      Description

ASM is currently required to read bytecode and build method behaviors used by the symbolic execution engine. This occurs when the source code of a method is not directly available in a project but provided through a dependency.

This dependency over ASM is a pain point regarding our dependency on eclipse ECJ, as bytecode is handled differently. Getting rid of ASM would simplify our way we provide support to newer versions of Java.
