      Description

Coverage treemaps rely heavily on red and green to indicate levels of coverage.

It's not perceivable by colorblind users:

      (deuteranopia simulation)

      Solution

In order to not introduce new colors and disrupt our palette before the new LTS, we'll keep the same colors and same legend for now. However, small improvements will ease the reading:

      • The gradient legend will be thicker
      • N/A elements will be grey and textured to be immediately recognizable
      • Labels on each tile will also provide the actual coverage number or rating badge
      • Labels on each tile have a dark background and provide a minimum accessible contrast (WCAG AA compliant)
        • background is #000 with 0.6 opacity
        • component name is #F3F3F3
        • coverage number is #E6E6E6
