      Description

The commit ID is not present in webhook payloads, which is an obstacle for services integrating with SonarCloud and SonarQube. By commit ID, we mean the scm_revision_id written to the scanner report, which is the commit ID detected by the SCM plugin at the time of the scan.

Note: beware of the behavior of certain build systems. For example, when Travis analyzes a pull request on GitHub, it checks out the merge commit, and runs the scanner on that, therefore the detected commit ID won't be the same as the head of the pull request branch. In such systems, the commit ID in the payload won't be useful. Use the sonar.analysis.scmRevision instead, as explained in the documentation.
