The donut chart we use for showing coverage percentage on the homepage uses shades of red and green that are hardly distinguishable for a colorblind person.

How it is seen by people without visual impairments:

How it is seen by a person with Deuteranomaly:

      Solution

      The charts get improved by

Here is how it should look:

Here is how a person with Deuteranopia (Green-Red colorblindness, absence of green cone-cell) would perceive it:

      In context of the interface:

Note: we chose to not use a lighter green (as in https://jira.sonarsource.com/browse/SONAR-10058) for two reasons:

      • It improves readability for colorblind people but reduces it for non-colorblind people because of the bad contrast between the green and the blue timeline in the background:
      • It creates confusion as a lighter green stands for B ratings, especially in the context of Projects Page and Projects Overview (which is not the case in the code viewer where there is no direct comparison possible)
