The donut chart we use for showing coverage percentage on the homepage uses shades of red and green that are hardly distinguishable for a colorblind person.
The charts get improved by
- Adding space between the two colors (improve perception of difference between two areas)
- Using a darker red (same than in https://jira.sonarsource.com/browse/SONAR-10058)
Note: we chose to not use a lighter green (as in https://jira.sonarsource.com/browse/SONAR-10058) for two reasons:
- It improves readability for colorblind people but reduces it for non-colorblind people because of the bad contrast between the green and the blue timeline in the background:
- It creates confusion as a lighter green stands for B ratings, especially in the context of Projects Page and Projects Overview (which is not the case in the code viewer where there is no direct comparison possible)
