It's currently not possible for Edge and IE users to create Webhooks using the UI. Whatever the front side URL parsing always fail and since it's a mandatory field the UI prenvents the user from creating the Webhook.
Currently on the front side we have two ways of parsing a URL to check if it’s valid :
- Use the URL api (that is still kind of experimental)
- A fallback where we parse the url through a Anchor html tag
The problem is that both methods fail most of the time on IE and Edge and never works when there are credentials in the URL: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/issues/8004284/
So we have no reliable way to fix this for now.
Workaround: create the webhook directly from the WS.
Possible fix: bypass the URL validation when the parsing fail on IE and Edge and rely only on the back-end validation.
