      Description

As an executive, my time is precious and I need visualizations to help me quickly understand my portfolios' relative strengths and weaknesses.

To that end, visualizations should be made available:

      Bubble charts

Each bubble is a portfolio in the selected set, and has

      • mouseover: portfolio details
      • clickthrough: portfolio page

The following charts should be available:

      • Reliability
        • x: LoC
        • y: Reliability Remediation Effort
        • size: #bugs
        • color: severity of worst issue
      • Security
        • x: LoC
        • y: Security Remediation Effort
        • size: #vulnerabilities
        • color: severity of worst issue
      • Maintainability
        • x: LoC
        • y: Technical Debt
        • size: #code smells
        • color: maintainability rating
      • Duplications
        • x: LoC
        • y: Duplicated Lines
        • size: #duplicated blocks
      • Coverage
        • x: Complexity
        • y: Coverage
        • size: uncovered lines

      Simple Timelines

A timeline chart should be provided that shows the evolution of the selected portfolios along a single quality axis:

      • mouseover: portfolio details
      • x: time

      y-axis:

      • Releasability rating
      • Reliability rating
      • Security rating
      • Maintainability rating
      • Releasability risk (number of failing projects)
      • Coverage
      • Duplicated Lines %

      Out of Scope

      • Risk History - It would be nice to show the history of Reliability risk, Security risk, and Maintainability risk. Unfortunately, that would require showing not just the rating of the worst component(s) but also, ideally the count of components at that rating. For that, a simple line graph is inadequate, and no good pattern presents itself. So Quality Model Risk history is currently out of scope.
